The Sawtooths are more than a place to visit in the summer. They can be enjoyed year round!  This February the Sawtooth Society proves it by hosting three fun events under the beautiful Sawtooth Mountains.

The first is coming up quick.  As part of the week-long Sun Valley Nordic Festival, the Sawtooth Society is hosting a Learn to Curl/ Dutch Oven Cook / Skate Ski Clinic. That’s right, a winter extravaganza!  The first hour will be dedicated to dutch oven cooking.  And then, while the meal is simmering over coals, participants will spend the next two hours learning to curl and skate ski.

For those who end up hooked on skate skiing (as most people do once they try it) they can come back to Stanley on February 14th for the 2nd Annual Sawtooth Ski Clinic.  This free event will take place at the Park Creek Ski trails six miles west of Stanley. The day will be split up into two sessions: the morning for beginners and the afternoon for intermediates.  VAMPS coach E.J. Harpham and Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation director Rick Kapala will be leading the clinics.

To mix it up a bit, on February 21st, the Sawtooth Society is hosting a fat bike race! The Winterfest 40 fat bike race will take place as part of the Stanley Winterfest. This 40 kilometer race will weave through the foothills of Stanley all in view of the Sawtooth Mountains.  Come ride in the race, watch, or enjoy the many other Stanley Winterfest activities.
