The Idaho Sawtooths are a magical playground in the winter as much as they are in the summer. If you have yet to experience this Idaho winter wonderland, be sure to put it on your to-do list. Here are a few events taking place this winter with links for more information.
Stanley is one of the coldest places in the continental United States – so, of course, it hosts one of the best winter festivals around. The Stanley Winterfest is all about snow, beer, and keeping it weird! Events such as the Fat Bike Fondo, glow in the dark parade, and outhouse races are just a few of the fabulous events taking place. The family-friendly event happens every President’s Day weekend.
Boise Curling Club will be hosting the ninth annual Sawtooth Outdoor Bonspiel (the “S.O.B.”) in Stanley, Idaho Jan. 28-30, 2022. The S.O.B. is a 16-team, three-day open bonspiel (curling match) with a three-game guarantee held on the outdoor ice rink in Stanley. The S.O.B. will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday and end at noon on Sunday.
Sign up for the race which will end at 3:00 p.m. followed by a ball that evening.
No matter what you decide to partake in there are many guides to choose from that will be happy to show you backcountry skiing, hot springs, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling.
