Sawyer here! Wow, it’s starting to get cold up here in the Boulder Mountains. Good thing I have a very warm coat this time of year. From way up high I sometimes catch a glimpse of people looking at me through the telescopes from the Billy’s Bridge Goat Viewing Area.
Have you read the educational sign at Billy’s Bridge? It was paid for by the Sawtooth Society’s SNRA License Plate Fund. The Billy’s Bridge sign and over 230 other projects have been funded by the Sawtooth Society with these funds. More than a million dollars of recreation projects have been funded over the life of the program. You help by placing me (Sawyer, the Goat) on your cars, and in doing so, you help me, my herd, and all of the other great things we all love in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.
Each year, 100% of funds generated by license plate purchases are granted to projects chosen by a committee, some of whom are locals unaffiliated with the Sawtooth Society. The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation then approves the projects.
The Sawtooth National Recreation Area needs to be preserved forever and kept wild. Your advocacy is needed to make sure that is always true. Your gift will help us preserve and protect these wild lands and towering forests for generations to come.
Please consider donating by visiting www.sawtoothsociety.org, scanning the QR code, or by purchasing a Goat Plate at https://itd.idaho.gov/.
We appreciate everything you can do to support our efforts. Your generosity does so much!
Happy Holidays!
Your friend,
Sawyer
