OUR TRAILS ARE IN TROUBLE
The breathtaking trails of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) are in need of your help!
This year, the SNRA staff roster remains reduced by more than 50%, drastically limiting the capacity for public lands trail maintenance. ~10 full-time employees are responsible for caring for more than 756,000 acres. We simply must help steward this extraordinary wilderness and protect its lands, rivers, wildlife, and trails for generations to come.
Without additional support, our beloved wild places face increasing deterioration and potential destruction or closure. Downed trees, overgrown paths, and washed-out trails will make it harder for hikers, backpackers, bikers, motor vehicle users, and horseback riders to experience the Sawtooth, Boulder, and White Cloud Wilderness areas as we know and love them.
Our Trail Crews have already repaired and maintained more than 250 miles of trail, but there is still another 150 miles to go. There are still hundreds of downed trees blocking trails and washed-out drainages.
“This land inspires us; it rejuvenates us. It fuels our soul. It’s time we give back to the area that gives us so much. NOW is the time to get involved. TOGETHER we can be part of the solution”
-Bex Wilkinson-Marshall Frankel Foundation.
The Sawtooth Society and Bex Wilkinson are launching an urgent campaign to raise $50,000 to help our Backcountry Trail Crew:
-Clear fallen trees and debris blocking trails-
-Repair bridges, drainages, and washed-out paths-
-Keep the backcountry and side country accessible for everyone-
Every dollar makes a difference. And right now, your gift can go twice as far.
Thank you to Bex for helping our supporters double their impact and reach our $50,000 goal!
Will you join the hundreds of supporters stepping up to protect our public lands?
