This spring the Forest Service provided a 2-day class to Sawtooth Society Austin Kraal Memorial Volunteer Program volunteers in trail maintenance along with the use of chainsaws and crosscut saws for early season trail clearing. Five Sawtooth Society members participated in the class taught by Jay Dorr and Debra Peters, along with an experienced group of trail and fire crew folks. Everyone benefitted from the training and enjoyed getting out in the woods to sharpen their skills. These five are now trained and ready to get to work on clearing downed timber from the trails, making them ready for folks to access their favorite places in the Sawtooth NRA.
