Sawtooth Society Idaho | SNRA IdahoHow did June fly by so quickly?! I suppose it is true that time flies when you are having fun. And June was certainly fun!

The Boys and Girls Club of Magic Valley kicked off the month with an incredible two days of hard work clipping fence near Williams Creek.  Because of their hard work, the antelope migrating through the area can now safely continue their journey.

The next weekend was dedicated to pathways and waterways.  June 14th was the first of many trail maintenance days throughout the summer.  Volunteers traveled from Boise, Ketchum, and Stanley to help clean up the Boundary Creek trail.  Thanks to their hard work, mountain bikers and hikers will be able to enjoy this trail for another year.

On June 15th, all four daystretch river companies got together to clean the shores of the river they spend all summer floating. 20 guides from the River Company, Sawtooth Adventure Company, White Otter Adventures, and White Cloud Rafting volunteered one of few days off to travel by boat along the Salmon River and pick up trash.  That evening, the Sawtooth Society thanked them with a barbecue and beer donated by the Sawtooth Brewery in Ketchum.

Yet another trail day took place mid-June on the Williams Creek trail followed by a weed pull along the Salmon River.  Both projects brought enthusiastic and hard-working volunteers and amazing accomplishments.

June wrapped up with a fun evening in Boise at the Payette Brewing Company.  Payette featured the Sawtooth Society in its Kegs4Kause program.  On Monday, June 30th, %50 of proceeds from beer sales was donated to the Sawtooth Society!  To celebrate this generous donation, two Boise bands, The Oliphants and Hillfolk Noir donated their amazing musical skills for the event.  Boisians gathered until the Payette Brewery taproom was standing room only. The month ended with a beer swilling, feet shuffling good time!

July looks to be just as busy and as fun.  Please check out the many opportunities that you can participate in the Austin Kraal Memorial Volunteer program.  Contact DaltonWarr at dalton@sawtoothsociety.org for details.
