The breathtaking trails of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area (SNRA) are in trouble.
Recently, the SNRA staff roster has been cut by over 50%, resulting in critical trail maintenance capability being drastically reduced. This will leave our beloved wild places at risk of deterioration, destruction, or outright closure this summer.
Without action, downed trees, overgrown paths, and washed-out trails will make it harder for hikers, backpackers, bikers, motor vehicle users, and horseback riders to experience the Sawtooth, Boulder, and White Cloud Mountains as we know them.
That’s why we’re stepping up.
The Sawtooth Society’s Board of Directors and Staff, through our beloved Trail Stewardship Fund, are launching an urgent campaign to raise $80,000 in order to DOUBLE the size of our trail crew this summer and provide visitor support —restoring essential maintenance and guidance work that the SNRA Staff can no longer provide to Preserve, Protect, and Enhance the SNRA.
Your donation today will fund a Trail Crew to:
– Clear fallen trees and debris blocking trails
– Repair bridges, drainages, and washed-out paths
– Keep the back and side country accessible for all
Every dollar makes a difference. Will you help us protect the Sawtooth trails before it’s too late?
Click below to Donate now! EVERY donation $50 and under will be matched by an Anonymous donor!
